Boldon man on grievous bodily harm charge sent to crown court

A MAN is set for a crown court appearance after admitting a charge of grievous bodily harm.

Barry Curnow broke the arm of Andrew Saunders during an altercation in Boldon Colliery, South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court heard.

The incident took place on Sunday, March 22.

Valerie Bell, defending, said: “He is a man of previous good character. He accepts he is guilty of the offence.”

Magistrates sent the case to Newcastle Crown Court.

Curnow, of New Road, Boldon Colliery, will appear at the court on a date to be confirmed.
