Boy, 12, attacked in South Shields

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was attacked after being confronted by a gang of teenagers in South Shields.

The unprovoked attack happened at 10.30pm on Saturday, May 31, in Chichester Road.

The victim was walking along a rear lane between the Metro lines when two teenage boys and a girl approached him.

One of the boys punched him in the face breaking two of his teeth.

The victim fled his attacker in the direction of Chichester Metro.

The offender is described as white, aged 16 to 17, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and wearing a light blue hooded zipped jacket.

Inquiries are continuing into the assault and police are keen to hear from any witnesses.
