Car damage accused appears in court

A MAN accused of damaging a car parked in a South Tyneside street has appeared in court.

Graham Marchant is charged with causing criminal damage to a Citroen C4 vehicle on Friday, January 23.

The offence is alleged to have taken place in Harton Lane, South Shields.

The 27-year-old denied the offence at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

He will be back at the court for trial on April 28.

Marchant, of Moreland Road, South Shields, was granted bail until his court date, with the conditions that he does not contact prosecution witnesses, does not attend a named property in Harton Lane and resides at his home address.
