Commemorative coins and binoculars taken in house burglary


COMMEMORATIVE coins have been stolen from a house in South Tyneside.

Burglars broke into the property in Coupland Grove, Jarrow, stealing a number of items.

The break-in happened between 2.30pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.

Items taken included a set of Celestron binoculars, a pair of cuff links and an amount of cash.

Among the commemorative coins stolen were a Royal Mint collection of silver £2 coins, a Euro 96 £2 coin, a bicentennial silver US dollar and half dollar and a silver £1 coin.
