Court Round-up: Jack Daniels thief among latest cases

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

 Mark Liddle, 48, of Saxon Way, Jarrow, was jailed for ten weeks for breaching the terms of a restraining order in South Shields on Monday, October 26.

 He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180 and a victim surcharge of £100.

 David Kelly, 34, of Elmfield Terrace, Hebburn, was jailed for four weeks for stealing four bottles of Jack Daniels valued at £108 from Asda, in Station Road, Hebburn, on Sunday, October 25 and eight bottles of Smirnoff vodka valued at £148 from the same store on Monday, October 26.

 Tyler Ritson, 20, of Orwell Close, South Shields, was given a 12-month community order and must pay compensation of £511.92 for damaging a window in South Tyneside on September 1.

 He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150.

 Thomas Dodds, 47, of Thames Road, Hebburn, was given a 12-month community order, must pay compensation of £50 and was fined £15 for an offence of assault by beating in Hebburn on Friday, September 11.

 He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and prosecution costs of £85.

 Brett Robinson, 40, of Willow Road, Doncaster, was given a 12-week jail sentence – suspended for 18 months – and was banned from driving for three years for failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in South Shields on Saturday, August 22.

 He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and an £80 victim surcharge.

 Brian Warrener, 38, of Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, was given a 12-month community order with 200 hours’ unpaid work and must pay a total of £550 compensation for an offences of assault by beating and criminal damage in Hebburn on Tuesday, September 29.

 He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and prosecution costs of £85.
