Court Round-up: Stealing lamb from Lidl, booze from Morrisons and Daz washing tablets from Home Bargains

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court:

Gary Brown, 28, of Green Lane, South Shields, was fined £220 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Boldon Lane, South Shields, on Saturday, October 10.

He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £22.

Craig Jopling, 30, of Bunyan Avenue, South Shields, was fined £120 and ordered to pay compensation of £300 for damaging a dwelling window and private vehicle windows to the value of £1,200 in South Tyneside on Monday, October 5.

He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and prosecution costs of £85.

Paul Miller, 28, of Scarborough Parade, Hebburn, was given a six-month conditional discharge after stealing Stella Artois lager and Jura whiskey to the value of £46 from Morrisons in Jarrow on Saturday, October 10.

He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £15.

James Bingham, 38, of Woodbine Street, South Shields, was given a three-month community order, with an electronically monitored curfew between 7pm to 7am each day during this period, for 
stealing three boxes of Daz washing tablets worth £10.47 from Home Bargains in Jarrow on Thursday, July 2 and for the theft of £47 worth of meat from Morrisons in Jarrow on Wednesday, September 23.

Sharon Clark, 41, of Cheviot Road, South Shields, was fined £120 for handling stolen goods in South Tyneside on August 27.

She was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180, prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Scott Atkinson, 29, of Frobisher Street, Hebburn, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for stealing six joints of lamb valued at £47.08 from Lidl, in South Shields, on Thursday, October 8.

He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
