Court Round-up: The Cannabis owner, debit card thief and police attacker

The following people are the latest to be dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

Callum Anderson, 23, of Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, was given a six-month conditional discharge for being in possession of cannabis, in Hebburn, on Wednesday, July 29.

He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Andrew Stobbs, 30, of Watson Avenue, South Shields, was given a 12-month community order and fined £10 after stealing a debit card in South Shields on Friday, August 7.

He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £180 and a £60 victim surcharge.

Samantha Welsh, 43, of East Stevenson Street, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge after stealing two bottles of vodka worth £20 from Aldi supermarket, in Chichester Road, South Shields, on Thursday, September 10.

She must also a criminal courts charge of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Amy Murphy, 21, of Hindmarsh Drive, Boldon, was given a six-month conditional discharge after assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty in Boldon on Saturday, August 29.

She was also ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge, prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Lee Thompson, 36, of Gleneagles Road, Grindon, Sunderland, was given a 18-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £400 compensation for stealing three tyres from a Ford Transit van in South Shields on February 19.
