A MAN was arrested after hurling drunken abuse at police, a court heard.
Karl Palmer, of Green Lane, South Shields, swore at officers and told them “I’m quite a good boxer” during a booze-fuelled rant in Bluebell Way, South Shields, on December 16.
The 27-year-old was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in a public place and admitted the offence when he appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Valerie Bell, defending, said: “He is mortified by his behaviour. He had far too much alcohol and his recollection of the incident is limited.
Palmer was given a £75 fine and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
