Four men arrested over pub assault

FOUR men have been arrested after an attack at a pub in South Tyneside.

A 52-year-old was taken to hospital with head injuries following the assault at the Marsden Inn, South Shields, at 12.24am today.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent and three men, aged 46, 50 and 62, have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and are asking any witnesses to contact them, in particular anyone who was in the pub at the time and has not yet spoken to police.
