Northumbria Police have issued an appeal for information after a large cannabis farm was discovered on Stanhope Road in South Shields.

The farm, which contained over 500 plants was brought to the attention of police at around 11pm on Saturday, May 30.

It has since been dismantled and enquiries have begun.

“Officers attended and found a large cannabis farm inside with more than 500 plants.

“The farm has since been dismantled and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.”
