Man accused of South Shields nightclub attack

A SOUTH Tyneside man accused of a nightclub attack is to have his case heard at the crown court.

Kyle Heslop, of Gibbons Walk, South Shields, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm on another man on Sunday, March 9.

The 24-year-old entered a not guilty plea to the charge at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The offence is alleged to have taken place at Glitterball nightclub, in Ocean Road, South Shields, where a man suffered a fractured jaw during an early hours assault.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction for the matter and a prelimary hearing will be held at Newcastle Crown Court on June 12.

Heslop was granted bail until then, with the conditions he resides at his home address and does not contact prosecution witnesses.
