Man to appear in court over communications offence after death of Barry Armstrong in South Shields crash

A man is set to appear in court to face a communications offence in connection with the death of Barry Armstrong.

The 25-year-old dad – also known as Barry Sutton – died after the car he was in hit a house on Chichester Road, South Shields, during the early hours of Friday, January 24.

The crash remains the subject of a Northumbria Police investigation.

A 21-year-old man has been summonsed to South Tyneside Magistrates Court in July where he will face a communications charge, in relation to material shared after the collision.
