Man assaulted in South Tyneside pub

A YOB who assaulted a man in a South Tyneside pub is being hunted by police.

The incident happened between 10.10pm and 10.20pm, on Sunday, December 28.

The 43-year-old victim suffered facial injuries after he was attacked in the Red Hackle, in Perth Avenue, Jarrow.

His assailant was in his 50s, about 6ft tall, of stocky build and clean shaven, with short, grey hair.

He was wearing jeans, a grey long-sleeved top and dress shoes.

Inquiries into the assault are ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
