A MAN landed himself in court after breaking a curfew order by visiting hsi dad.

David Kirsop was given a four-month curfew in August – from 8pm until 7am each day – for possession of a bladed article.

But he breached the curfew, which was due to finish on August 28, by leaving his home to go to see his father on July 25.

Kirsop, of Whitehead Street, South Shields, admitted the curfew breach at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Valerie Bell, defending, said: “He went to visit his dad. He fell asleep and it was too late to get a Metro home, so he decided to stay overnight.”

As a result, the 28-year-old missed the entire 11-hour period of the curfew on that date.

Magistrates decided to extend the curfew by one extra day – for the time he missed – meaning the order will continue until August 29.
