Man robbed at South Shields cashpoint in broad daylight

A man had cash grabbed out of his hand in a robbery at a cashpoint at busy parade of South Shields shops.

Northumbria Police is investigating after the broad daylight attack, which happened in Whiteleas Way.

A spokesperson for the force said it received a call about the robbery outside the Nisa shop at 3.45pm on Saturday, December 21.

They added: “It was reported that a 51-year-old man had been getting money out of a cashpoint when another man snatched the money out of his hand and fled the scene.

“Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.”
