Nine Sunderland and South Tyneside criminals before magistrates: Offences include theft, assault and driving offences

Deborah Leigh Ritchie, 33, of Thorney Close, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to five charges of shop theft, which included stealing toys and other goods from Wilko and children’s coats from Poundland. She was given a 12-month community order and told to pay compensation of £258.

Norman Paul Dunn, 39, of Maple Street, Jarrow, pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order. He was given a six-month community order and made the subject of a restraining order. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

Stuart Graham Little, 37, of Crighton, Oxclose, was found guilty of assault. He also pleaded guilty to criminal damage and threatening behaviour. He was given a six-month community order and made the subject of a restraining order. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £620 costs and a £90 surcharge.

Martin Miller, 27, of Clydesdale Street, Hetton, was jailed for 18 weeks and three days. He pleaded guilty to two charges of driving whilst disqualified, two of driving without insurance, two charges of assault, failing to comply with a supervision order and failing to comply with a community order. He was banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.

Alexander McHugh, 22, of Chester Road, Sunderland, was fined £100 after he admitted breaching a supervision order.

Louis John Whelan, 20, of Saltburn Road, Sunderland, admitted failing to stop following an accident, failing to report an accident to police, driving without insurance and without a licence. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for nine months. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Lee Robert Paul Darville, 34, of Sydney Gardens, South Shields, was fined £80 after admitting speeding. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge and was given four penalty points.

Annette Mills, 34, of Hadleigh Road, Sunderland, was fined £80 after pleading guilty to speeding. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge and was given three penalty points.

Tony Shaw, 53, of Lawrence Avenue, South Shields, was fined £146 after he pleaded guilty to a parking violation. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
