Pair sent to crown court on drug dealing charges

A MAN and a woman facing a string of drug charges will have their case heard at the crown court.

Raymond Connolly and Zoey McDonald were accused of six offences each – including charges of intent to supply Class A drugs – at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

No pleas were entered and all matters were sent to Newcastle Crown Court for an initial hearing on July 17.

Connolly, 49, of Lodore Grove, Jarrow, is charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply MDMA, possession with intent to supply amphetamine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, producing cannabis and possessing criminal property, namely £8,851 of cash, a Volkswagen Transporter, a Vauxhall Corsa van and a bowser.

McDonald, 27, of Leslie Avenue, Hebburn, faces the same drug charges and is also charged with possession of criminal property, that of £8,851 of cash.

Both were given unconditional bail until their crown court hearing.
