Police hunting thieves after raid at cricket club

POLICE are appealing for information after gardening equipment was stolen from a cricket club.

The theft happened between 5pm on Monday, March 30, and 12.45pm on Tuesday March 31. A container at Boldon Cricket Club in Sunderland Road in East Boldon was broken into.

Among the items stolen were a John Deere Lawnmower, a Stihl hedge trimmer, a Honda hedge trimmer, a trolley and a metal detector.

Officers are carrying out enquiries in to the break-in and are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious around the cricket club or has information about where the stolen items are asked to contact police.
