Police have launched a plea for information after a driver had her phone snatched and hurled into the road during a hit-and-run crash in South Tyneside.
A white HGV collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa at the Lindisfarne Roundabout in Jarrow, on the slip-road joining the A19 northbound towards the tyne tunnel at about 7.30am on Tuesday, August 2.
The driver of the Corsa got out and attempted to take a photograph of the lorry but a passenger got out and snatched her phone and threw it into oncoming traffic, causing it to smash.
The lorry then drove off.
