Police warning after prescription drugs stolen in South Tyneside

Police are warning people against the dangers of taking medication not prescribed to them after prescription drugs were stolen in South Tyneside.

It happened on Thursday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm, on Thursday, September 22, at an address in Jarrow.

The following drugs and quantities were taken:

26 tablets of Newfropam – 30mg

6 tablets of Memantine- 20mg

6 tablets of Citalopram- 10mg

12 tablets of Adcal- 750mg

DC Leigh Booth said: "I'd warn those responsible or anyone who finds the drugs not to consume any of them, and would urge people not to buy or accept medication which is not specifically prescribed to them.

"Anyone with any information of the whereabouts of the stolen medication is asked to contact us straight away."

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 752 of 22/09/16 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
