Racial insults and damaging cameras - a round up of South Tyneside court cases

The following cases have been heard recently at South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at both South Shields and Sunderland:

Melissa Bone, 34, of Waterloo Walk, Sulgrave, Washington, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in a racially aggravated manner in South Shields on November 16 last year.

Michael Thomas Finley, 37, of Heddon Close, Ryton, was ordered to pay £434.77p compensation after admitting causing £434.77p criminal damage to a car door in Jarrow on June 24.

Mark David Burrell, 47, of Armstrong Terrace, South Shields, received an absolute discharge after admitting possessing cannabis on May 4.

Michael Harvey Johnstone, 31, of Newmarket Street, South Shields, was ordered to complete 60 hours unpaid work as part of a community order and pay £90 compensation and £85 costs after admitting causing £90 of criminal damage to a camera on November 16 last year.

Christian Stidolph, 21, of Capulet Grove, South Shields, was banned from driving for 16 months, fined £161 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on July 11.

Conner Brooke, 20, of Cheviot Road, South Shields, was fined £55 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being drunk and disorderly on July 31.

Graham Lee Boyle, 37, of Bonsall Court, South Shields, received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £2 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting possessing cannabis on April 5.
