

Rogues gallery of criminals locked up for crimes linked to South Shields and the rest of South Tyneside in March and April
These criminals were all locked up after appearing before the courts in March and April 2021.
Unless otherwise stated, they were all handed custodial sentences at Newcastle Crown Court.
They are either from South Tyneside, or committed crimes in or linked to South Tyneside.

5. Reece Nixon
Reece Nixon, aged 24, of Prendwick Court, Hebburn, was jailed for nine months after pleading guilty to ABH and theft. Nixon punched an associate before taking his mobile phone after they both left the train at Fellgate Metro Station in Jarrow, in a case dealt with by British Transport Police. 6. Gary Brennan
Gary Brennan, 36, of Aline Street, Seaham, was caught with a large machete down his trousers while helping a friend carry a cooker down a street in South Shields. He admitted having a bladed article and was sentenced to eight months behind bars. Photo: Northumbria Police

7. Miriam Raine
Miriam Raine, 46, of Lulworth Avenue, Jarrow, admitted three charges of theft and three of fraud relating to a total of £13,211.97 she took from vulnerable older people. She took over £13,000 from an 87-year-old dementia patient, used a bank card belonging to a man who was dying from leukaemia, and stole a purse from an 89-year old woman with alzheimers. 8. Brandon Cairns
Brandon Cairns, 23, of Titan Avenue, South Shields, carried a knife onto a Metro station platform and brandished it in front of children. The serial offender, who has 38 convictions for 84 offences, admitted being in possession of a knife in a public place. He was sentenced to seven months in prison. Photo: Northumbria Police
