A SOUTH Tyneside man has appeared in court charged with making indecent photographs of children.

Paul Robert Scott, of Galsworthy Road, South Shields, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The 37-year-old is accused of making 31 indecent images of a child.

He also faces one charge of distributing an indecent image. Rebecca Gibson, prosecuting, said that the charges would carry a minimum sentence of one year, and should therefore be sent to Newcastle Crown Court.

No pleas were entered, and Scott was released on unconditional bail and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday, September 16.
