Wooden then admitted drink driving at McDonald’s, in Byker, Newcastle, on December 21 and to driving while disqualified and without insurance on the same date.

North Tyneside Magistrates Court imposed a 12-week jail term, which was suspended for 18 months, criticising his “blatant disregard for court orders”.

Yet the court decided against imprisoning him outright after hearing about his “significant life pressures”.
