Stealing children’s toys from Asda and aftershave from Debenhams – some of the latest cases heard in court round-up

Michael Andrew Kelly, 32, of Oxford Square, Pallion, Sunderland, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was given a 12-month community order with 120 hours unpaid work and banned from driving for 28 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

Steven Thomas Milligan, 34, of Hereford Road, Hill View, Sunderland, admitted stealing children’s toys, clothes, stationery and DVDs, valued at £336.22 from Asda at the Metrocentre. He was given a 12-month community order and told to pay a £90 surcharge.

Sophie Ross, 23, of Benfleet Avenue, Town End Farm, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop for a police officer, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. She was given an 18-month community order and banned from driving for 22 months. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

James Christopher Shelley, 29, of Hylton Road, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to breaching a supervision order. He was given 40 hours of unpaid work.

Terri Ella Johns, 29, of Mowbray Road, South Shields, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined £100. She was given three penalty points and ordered to pay £30 costs.

Paige Kirkbride, 24, of Commercial Street, Ferryhill, Durham, admitted two charges of theft and one of breaching a community order. She was fined £40 and given a 12-month community order.

Carl John Temple, 41, of Commerical Street, Ferryhill, Durham, was fined £40 and given a 12-month community order after admitting two charges of theft, including cosmetics and aftershave, valued at £177.50, from Debenhams in Sunderland.
