Takeaway attack case will go to crown court

A MAN accused of attacking someone in a South Tyneside takeaway will have his case heard at crown court.

Nathan Jackson, formerly known as Clark, is said to have assaulted the other man at Yankees in Ocean Road, South Shields, on May 11.

Officers also allegedly found cocaine on the 28-year-old when they searched him at South Shields police station.

Jackson was at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court facing charges of possessing a Class A drug and assault causing actual bodily harm.

He entered no pleas and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on October 1. Jackson, of Avon Avenue, North Shields, was granted unconditional bail.
