Theft from Aldi and Morrisons, drug possession and assault: Cases from Sunderland and South Tyneside before magistrates

Craig Nicholson, 40, of Beach Road, South Shields, was jailed for 22 weeks for a string of offences.

He admitted entering Morrisons in Jarrow as a trespasser and stealing Tramadol tablets, assault, three charges of failing to surrender to custody and theft from Aldi. He was found guilty of criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £800 in compensation.

Cally Marie McDougal, 27, of John Williamson Street, South Shields, admitted breaching a community order and was given two days of rehabilitation activity.

Edward Robson, 68, of Eastbourne Parade, Hebburn, was fined £60 after he was found guilty of breaching a community order.
