Two gas masks stolen from South Shields garden

POLICE are appealing for information after two gas masks were stolen from a garden in South Shields.

The theft happened between 1am and 10am, on Monday, January 5.

They had been left in a garden in Sheridan Road, Biddick Hall, after work had been carried out at the property.

Inquiries into the theft are ongoing and police are keen to speak to any witnesses.

Police are continuing to target opportunist thieves as part of Operation Soundwave.
