Two South Shields men charged over St Albans burglaries

A South Shields man who was arrested by police investigating a series of burglaries in St Albans has appeared in court.

Daniel Ward, of Oak Avenue, South Shields was one of five people held by officers in Luton on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old was later charged with burglary of a dwelling and fraud by false representation.

He appeared at Hatfield remand court, yesterday, where his case was committed to St Albans Crown Court.

Hertfordshire Police say David Adams, 39, of Canterbury Street, South Shields, was also charged with burglary and released on police bail.

He is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on December 11.

Three other men – a 35-year-old man from St Albans, a 26-year-old and a 31-year-old, both from South Shields, were released with no further action.
