Criminal damaged police cell, and five other petty crimes dealt with in court

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court:

Mark Brennan, 23, of Seton Avenue, South Shields, was fined £80 for being in possession of cocaine in South Shields on Friday, January 1.

 He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Darryl Hobbs, 33, of Cobbett Crescent, South Shields, was given a 12-month community order for dishonestly receiving stolen goods, a namely a bicycle, in South Shields, on Thursday, September 17.

 He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £150 and a £60 victim surcharge.

Christopher Robertson, of Tadema Road, South Shields, was given a 12-week jail sentence – suspended for 12-months – for receiving stolen goods, namely an iPad, between Tuesday, July 21 and Thursday, July 30 in South Shields.

 He was also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Carl Weedy, 24, of Galsworthy Road, South Shields, was fined £40 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Anderson Street, South Shields, on Sunday, December 27.

 He was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

Steven Winter, 38, of Lulworth Avenue, Jarrow, was fined £200 for resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty on Sunday, December 27.

 He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Reece Convery, 18, of Abbey Drive, Jarrow, was fined £90 and ordered to pay compensation of £30 after damaging a cell buzzer belonging to Northumbria Police at South Shields on Thursday, October 15.
