A new programme of arts and crafts workshops has been launched in South Tyneside to coincide with the approach of autumn’s darker nights.
The Cultural Spring, a three-year Arts Council-funded project aiming to encourage and increase participation in the arts in ten wards on South Tyneside and Wearside, has launched its new progamme of workshops at a range of venues.
Workshops include drumming sessions, theatre and performance skills, singing, creative writing, Bollywood dance, photography, fun with fabrics, screen printing, ceramics, upcycling and recycling, calligraphy and drawing.
Emma Horsman, Project Director of the Cultural Spring, said: “Over the last four years we’ve had thousands of people attend out workshop programmes in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
“We’ve listened carefully to feedback from participants and our latest programme has been shaped by what people have told us – in terms of venues as well as content.”

*Photography for beginners at Marsden Road Health and Wellbeing Centre, Marsden, from Tuesday, September 26 to Tuesday, November 28, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm,
