Diver airlifted after getting into trouble off South Shields
A diver who got into trouble off South Shields had to be flown to Humberside for emergency treatment.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called at noon on Saturday to assist a man suffering from a decompression illness.
He was flown to Hull for treatment at the hyperbaric unit and was stable on arrival.
