Dogs Trust currently has so many gorgeous pups up for adoption across the North and North East.
Darlington, Cumbria, Leeds and Edinburgh rehoming centres are hoping to find lovely homes for their dogs in order to give them the best possible lives.
Here are just 17 of the dogs searching for a forever home in time for Summer.

9. Buster (American Akita, six years)
Buster is a six-year-old Akita who seems typical of the breed. He can be aloof to start with but once he has built that bond with familiar people, he will be your best friend for life. Buster will need a quiet adult only home with a large enclosed garden where he can start to build on his confidence and get to know his new surroundings. He is friendly with most dogs he meets out and about but can be hit and miss, he also lacks manners and can be too much at times. For this reason he would be better as the only pet in the household. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds

10. George (Cocker Spaniel, 12 years)
George’s favourite spot is on the sofa snuggling up next to you. He likes having 40 winks but is still up for a little playtime with his toys. That spaniel nose of his never misses the sniffs out on his walks. He is friendly with other dogs so could share his strolls with other doggy pals. Golden oldie George is going to make someone a loving companion. Being an older boy George does have a couple of medical conditions which do not require medication at the present but he may need this in the future; a chat with our vet team can be arranged by his new family prior to adoption. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Darlington

11. Keith (Yorkshire Terrier, six years)
Keith is a handsome six-year-old Yorkie who loves his toys almost as much as his food. He is friendly with everyone and will happily say HELLO, especially if there is a tasty treat on offer. Out on walks, Keith has his little nose to the ground sniffing out the local wildlife, he has a very high prey drive so must be kept away from small fury animals. Keith can be vocal around other dogs, this could be due to frustration but he will need to be an only pet. He is also not a fan of sharing his toys so no small children either. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds

12. Keira (Belgian Shepherd Dog, five months)
Kiera loves being around her family and you'll find her wanting to curl up beside you on the sofa. She would need her new owners to have someone that will be home for most of the day to help her settle in. Kiera is a very smart girl and is already gaining progress with her housetraining and is well settled at bedtime. She is always aiming to please and she is a total foodie so this will aid in continuing her training! Kiera is in foster with another dog and she would benefit from living with another friendly dog who can match her energy. She is going to be an active dog when she is older and is looking for a family who enjoys going on different interesting walks and would be keen to put her mind to use by attending training classes. Kiera has attended classes at our Dog School with her foster carers and she has graduated with a paw-fect grade. She has been a star student and can't wait to do more training with her new family. Kiera is a very loving and affectionate girl who will make a very loyal companion for someone. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Edinburgh
