A firm with bases in Boldon and Seaham has created 30 jobs and posted the best results in its 13-year history.
Mechanical and electrical building service specialist HLA Services has also invested £50,000 in new technology.

And there’s more good news, as bosses are celebrating scooping more than £1m of contracts from outside the region.
The company’s growth has seen it hit the £11m turnover mark for the first time.
It has also created 30 jobs over the last 18 months, taking staff numbers to 120 across its bases in Boldon, Seaham and Middlesbrough.
Its client base includes Nissan, Caterpillar UK, Akzo Nobel, Aldi and Greggs, as well as Sunderland and Newcastle universities.
The expansion has allowed the firm to develop its apprenticeship programme. It took on three apprentices this year, bringing the total to seven.
The company has also opened up its work experience opportunity to more schools and the newly-formed Career College North East (South Tyneside).
HLA Services was set up in 2003 and, from its Boldon headquarters, offers services including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and water hygiene.
Projects director Paul Smith said: “The past 12 months has seen a steady increase in the amount of projects we have won here in the region.
“Added to that, we have won a raft of significant contracts across the UK, thanks to local clients who have bases outside the North East and prefer to work with us rather than use a supplier from that area.”
One of its latest contract wins saw staff working on Thorpe Park Business Park in Leeds, at Virgin Money in Sheffield, and at car parts maker Unipres in Birmingham.
Mr Smith said a mobile workforce using the latest IT and technology tools meant they could work anywhere in the UK.
And its vast range of services means that clients know all their problems can be sorted by HLA in one phone call.
Mr Smith added: “All of those factors have led to a very busy order book and based on our recent contract wins across the UK we are looking at the viability of adding to our North East bases by setting up an operation in Yorkshire. The future is looking very bright.”
