Hosts Worcestershire Rapids revelled in a brilliant knock of 127 from opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore as they posted a daunting total of 225-6 in their 20 overs at New Road.

Durham had the measure of most of the home batsmen, with Scott Borthwick and Paul Coughlin both striking twice, but Brett D’Oliveira (39 not out) helped Worcester to their huge total.

In reply, opener Mark Stoneman hit 25 off 13 balls, but his departure set Durham back, though Phil Mustard made 64, from 49 balls, in partnerships with Graham Clark (32) and Ryan Pringle (21).

Keaton Jennings hit an unbeaten 21 off 13 balls down the order, but the visitors struggled against Joe Leach, whose four overs brought excellent figures of 5-33.

Durham closed on 187-8 to go down by 38 runs.

Durham coach Jon Lewis said: “It was tough for us but I think we have to give quite a bit of credit to Kohler-Cadmore. He’s had an impressive day.

“He struck the ball really well. Strange as it may seem, there’s quite a lot there that we can feel quite good about. We did some impressive stuff but all was all overshadowed by Kohler-Cadmore’s innings.”
