YOUNGSTERS from a South Shields nursery cooked up a storm when they visited a supermarket.
Children from Nurserytime Kindergarten, in Beach Road, were invited to take part in some cooking activities at Morrison’s.
The group visited the store, in Ocean Road, South Shields, on Wednesday, and were given a guided tour of the shop, including making visits to the fishmongers and the bakery.
The children were then invited to fill their own doughnuts in the bakery section.
Youngsters were also given the chance to make their own pancakes using various toppings, and shown how to make pizzas, before being presented with a packet of sweets by staff members.
Nursery manager Helen Sheerin, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to all the Morrison’s staff involved in this special outing.
“All of the staff were very friendly and fantastic with the children, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“Nurserytime Kindergarten strive to provide their children with the best childcare and education.
“They are part of an ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ group of nurseries, with a number of staff qualified to degree level and Early Years Teacher Status.”
The nursery also has sites in Hebburn and Willington.
