A NEW library aims to be just the ticket for pupils at a South Tyneside school.
Youngsters at Westoe Crown Primary School in South Shields now have their very own library bus.

The double decker has been donated by Stagecoach North East to the school, which was desperately in need of a library of its own.
Steve Price, headteacher of the Sea Winnings Way school, said: “We are very grateful to Stagecoach North East for offering this vehicle to become part of our resources.
“Re-using equipment is a major part of our environment-friendly policy and this donation is greatly appreciated by all the friends and families of Westoe Crown Primary School.
“The pupils are very excited and have been looking at seating layout, shelving for the books and colours for the paint
The retired bus, at 20 years old and with more than a million miles on the clock, will be used as a static library in the school grounds.
Over the next few months it will receive a make-over – including the removal of seats and a new carpet fitted – with pupils, staff and parents getting involved in decorating to transform the old bus into a brand new library.
Brian Sleightholme, operations manager for Stagecoach North East’s South Shields depot, said: “We always try our best to support projects which will benefit the local community.
“It feels brilliant that we are helping to make a real difference to so many youngsters.
“Being able to lend a helping hand to community projects like a new library for a school on our doorstep is always important, especially when it comes to youth learning and development.”
