Playing up the hill, Westoe were immediately attacked by the visitors; however aggressive and solid tackling saw them push Medicals back into their own 22.

After eight minutes, Westoe pressure led to a penalty, which was taken quickly allowing Jake Arnold to cut through the defence to open the score.

After the restart, Westoe yet again forced Meds back, the midfield defence giving them no room to work with. However, a series of loose penalties found them under the posts as Medicals opened their score with a penalty under the posts. 7-3

It was the turn of the Westoe pack to ignite the game. Starting with a driving maul taking them over 20metres, the subsequent scrum was taken short, with a series of pick-and-goes, culminating with an Andrew Kirton try for a 12-3 lead.

Westoe continued with the forward dominance with another maul being collapsed on the Meds line. With a penalty to come, Judson spun the ball wide to Derek Worthington who forced his way over the line.

Medicals added to their tally just before the half-time whistle with a second penalty to make it 17-6 at the break.

Medicals resumed their attacking stance after the whistle; however the solid defence kept pushing them back down the Wood Terrace slope. Prevented from crossing the line, Meds were forced to settle for a third penalty.

The third quarter saw Westoe turn up the heat. Westoe sent Connor Pascoe down the blind-side and as he was forced into touch, he offloaded to Judson who found Paul Evans on great supporting line, touching down for the bonus point score.

Only a few minutes later, Westoe took try No 5. The Westoe pack secured the line-out, driving over the line, Raymie Elliott touching down.

Medicals yet again upped their game, throwing everything they had against the Westoe defence. The job became a little tougher with two quick yellow cards against the home team.
