Emergency services dealing with crash on busy South Shields road
Emergency services are at a busy South Shields road where traffic has been brought to a standstill following a rush hour crash.
There are tailbacks this evening following the incident on John Reid Road in South Shields.
Police, firefighters and ambulance crews are still on the scene following the accident.
The crash happened at around 5.30pm near the roundabout and the junction with King George Road.
