A CHARITY is offering South Tynesiders green deals with a difference.
Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle is urging bargain-hunters to buy used goods at its Windmill Warehouse Home recycling outlet at Middlefields Industrial Estate in South Shields to support Go Green Week.
Items including furniture, bicycles and prams, can be snapped up at low prices, helping people save cash while also doing their bit for the environment.
It’s also seeking volunteers to support its projects during the week-long campaign calling for stronger action on climate change.
Executive director Andrew Watts said: “Buying from Windmill Warehouse Home is a great way for people to furnish their homes at low cost.
“These are very high-quality goods, which have been cleaned and are in excellent shape to suit a wide range of needs.
“I’m delighted we’re supporting Go Green Week.”
Opportunities to get involved in practical conservation and environmental improvements are on offer each week.
They’re held at Cleadon Park, South Shields, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Mondays, at West Boldon Lodge from 10am to noon and at Big Local Central in Jarrow, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, both on Tuesdays.
They’re also held at Chuter Ede Community Centre in South Shields from 10am to noon on Thursdays, and at Monkton Community Woodland in Hebburn from 10am to noon on Fridays.
