Fans send best wishes to North East star Tim Healy

Best wishes have flooded in for actor Tim Healy after this morning's news that he has been fighting for his life in a Spanish hospital.

The 64-year-old had been filming hit ITV show 'Benidorm' when he fell ill almost a month ago.

His former wife, Loose Women star Denise Welch, is said to have flown to visit him in Spain during his illness, while his new wife Joan was at his side.

On Saturday he was reportedly flown home to a hospital in Manchester after his condition had stabilised enough for him to travel.

Fans took to Facebook to share their good wishes.

Lynn Davidson wrote: "Get well soon Tim.....we can't lose another well loved celeb.....too many have gone this year already! Sending love and hugs xx" while Alison Haslock said: "Let's hope someone is having a word with him upstairs and telling him no more. He's had enough of our brilliant talent this year.

"Hoping for a speedy recovery."

Julie Jules said the star was tough: " C'mon Tim, someone from the school of hard knocks doesn't give up... Get well very soon xx" while Trish Mcnay paid tribute to the role which first brought Tim to the public eye: "Too early for 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'."

Judith Payne described the Still Open All Hours star as "a Geordie best" and Barry Jack wrote: "C'mon Tim 64 is far to young to go, you can do it get well soon!"
