In an interview on ITV today with Lorraine Kelly, Faye told the viewers that Italian stallion Giovanni, who joined Strictly in 2015, is getting on well with her family.

The pop star, who lives in West Boldon with her husband Michael and nine-year-old son Benjamin, jointly-topped the leader board in week one of the competition, alongside former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.

And it's not just Giovanni keeping Faye in check - son Benjamin has been sharpening up his own "steps" by taking a turn at his mum's Cha Cha Cha routine from week one.

The routine, which was performed to Lullaby by Sigala featuring Paloma Faith, scored 29 points.

Faye told the studio that when the Cha Cha Cha tune comes on the radio, she and Benjamin have a run through the routine at home.

Training room footage broadcast ahead of Faye and Giovanni's dance on Saturday showed Michael and Benjamin paying a visit to the pair's rehearsal.

Giovanni, 28, ran through some basic waltz steps with Benjamin, before he took to the floor with his mum.

After spending three series on Strictly, Giovanni has been a runner-up twice, with Georgia May Foote in 2015 and last year with Debbie McGee.

In 2016 he danced with presenter Laura Whitmore. The couple were eliminated in week 7, despite dancing a high-scoring Samba to Bamboleo.

Strictly Come Dancing will continue this Saturday at 6.30pm. The results show will be broadcast on Sunday at 7.45pm.
