Funding giants are aiming to give South Tyneside charities and community groups a helping hand when it comes to seeking grants.

An event taking place at the central library tomorrow has been organised by the Council for the Voluntary Sector (CVS) South Tyneside.

Representatives from Sport England, the Big Lottery and Groundwork will be at the venue to offer advice on funding applications.

Ian Carr, volunteer centre co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity for groups across South Tyneside to find out more about what funding is available to them.”

The event starts at 1pm until 5pm and will also feature presentations by the People’s Cafe and the British Heart Foundation amongst other.

It will be followed by the South Tyneside CVS volunteer awards aimed at recognising the work of volunteers throughout the borough.
