Staff at a South Tyneside community centre hope the sun will be shining when they open the gates to their annual family fun day.
Chuter Ede Community Centre in Galsworthy Road, South Shields, is set to turn into a haven of activities for people of all ages to enjoy, tomorrow.
“Being at the heart of the community, it’s great we are able to put something on like this which brings so many people together.”Jason Meiers
The event, which has been held for the past six years, is one of the highlights on the centre’s calendar with hundreds of people attending each year.
Throughout the day youngsters will be able to enjoy fun fair rides, a bouncy castle, have their faces painted and take part in messy fun with ArtVenturers.
People looking for a bargain will also have the chance to browse a range of stalls and try their luck on the tombola.
Live music will also entertain the crowd expected to descend on the venue’s ground.
Sports club CE Sports based at the centre will also give youngsters and those young at heart the chance take part in sports activities.
Centre Manager Jason Meiers said: “The Chuter Ede Family Fun Day is always well attended regardless of the weather.
“Being at the heart of the community, it’s great we are able to put something on like this which brings so many people together.
“The staff at the centre work all year round to enable the fun day to happen, so hopefully, if the weather is on our side, it should be a great day for everyone.
