Healthcare watchdogs have rated a South Tyneside GP surgery as ‘good’ in a latest report.
Dr NE Win Surgery, based at Flagg Court Health Centre, in Dale Street, South Shields was visited by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission.
The practice was one of 52 surgeries visited as part of the watchdogs new programme of inspections.
In a report inspectors following the unannounced visit in June, it said: Patients said they were treated with compassion, dignity and respect and they felt involved in decisions about their care and treatment.
Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of General Practice, said: “We know that the vast majority of England’s GPs are providing a service which is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
“If that is what we find on inspection, we give it a rating of Good, and I congratulate the GPs and staff in these practices.
“Patients should be able to expect high quality and consistent care from every GP practice.”
