Charity campaigners are hoping people will feel blue to raise cash in memory of a brave South Tyneside tot.
The Charlie Cookson Foundation is launching a ‘wear blue for Charlie’ campaign in honour of the South Shields youngster who died in October 2013, from an undiagnosed illness aged just two-and-a-half.
His parents, Sarah and Chris Cookson, are hoping people will don blue clothing at their workplace and school and donate £1 to the foundation which helps the families of youngsters with life-limiting conditions.
Ideally the pair, from Simonside, South Shields, would like people to ‘go blue’ on Monday, April 13 – which would have been Charlie’s fourth birthday.
However, the campaign will be running from March 29 to April 30, to give more people a chance to get involved.
Sarah said: “This year, in honour of our inspirational little angel, we would like to mark Charlie’s special day and continue this as an annual event each year.”
