HEBBURN residents are being offered a sneak preview of their new state-of-the-art community facility.
These 3D artist’s impressions show how the interior of the Hebburn Central community hub could look.
The two-storey building will include a six-lane swimming pool, a learner pool, fitness suite, sports hall, dance studio, soft play area, library, learning centre and cafe, as well as meeting rooms and a customer service centre.
The CGI images reveal the layout and design of the new library.
Residents will be able to look at them in more detail when they are displayed in the existing Hebburn library from this Saturday, National Libraries Day.
Coun Alan Kerr, deputy leader of South Tyneside Council, with responsibility for culture and leisure, said: “National Libraries Day is all about celebrating and appreciating everything that is on offer in our libraries, so what better opportunity to introduce residents to their brand new library facility in Hebburn Central?
“Libraries are a real focal point for our communities, and I am sure local people will be excited to see how the new building is going to look.
“Hebburn Central will bring together a number of different services under one roof. It will not only boast a wonderful, modern library, but first-class leisure and social facilities too.”
Construction of the building is ongoing and is on schedule for completion in the spring.
Hebburn Library will be open for an extended period on Saturday, from 9am until 4pm.
There will be various activities to celebrate National Libraries Day, including a performance from historical re-enactment group the Time Bandits and pre-school music sessions.
