Christmas has certainly come early for one family in South Tyneside.

Santa’s sleigh has already arrived outside the Brown family’s home, in Victoria Road East, Hebburn – making it potentially the most festive house in the borough, despite it still being November.

The pair spent last weekend decorating their house – just after Sarah’s 30th birthday on November
4 – for their daughters Alysha, nine, and Jessica, six.

Sarah, who works in a call centre, said: “We like to make a fuss about Christmas. In 2013 we moved back to Hebburn, so we’ve been doing it for the last couple of years.

“We love doing it for the girls while they are still young, and hopefully it
will put a smile on other people’s faces as well as our own.”

It’s never too soon to start.

David, 36, a joiner, doesn’t think he’s been quick off the mark in putting up the decorations both inside and outside of his home.

In fact, the festive feeling has even spread to the neighbours next door, who are also in the early stages of decorating their house.

David said: “It’s never too soon to start, but I think our love for Christmas has become infectious and it’s already spread next door.

“You never know, it might spread to the whole street.

“I think most people think it’s really nice and you see them stopping to have a look.

“And as for those that don’t like it or have a moan we just say ‘Merry Christmas’, because we love it.”
