John Houston, from the Iona Social Club, said: “I was a former regular soldier with the Royal Green Jackets with tours in Northern Ireland and Cyprus.

“It still hurts me to see our injured troops suffering physically and mentally.

“Life is tough for everybody, let alone those living with a disability.

“With Help for Heroes’ support, they don’t have to face these battles alone.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported the charity within the Iona and the surroundings areas.”
