Newcastle United climbed to the top of the Championship table for the first time this season thanks to a 2-0 win over Barnsley last night.
Striker Dwight Gayle further underlined his £10million summer price tag by netting his 10th and 11th goals of the campaign in the Oakwell victory.
The win, coupled with leaders Norwich City's 2-2 draw with Fulham, meant the Magpies leapfrogged Alex Neil's men and rose to the summit of the second tier standings 13 games into the campaign.
